Since turning freelance I’ve discovered my new favourite distraction @oneminutebriefs on Twitter. A simple advertising brief is posted in the morning, sometimes a single word, sometimes something topical, sometimes to help raise awareness of a specific subject. Once you have decided on your idea you can tweet it in the form of a simple sketch or something more polished, if the idea is good one, you’re in with a chance to become an OMB winner.
The openness of the brief allows you to take any creative path you want, there is loads of great stuff being submitted by the loyal followers (also known as ‘OMBLES’), which range from students, freelancers, copywriters, Agencies or anyone looking to exercise their creative side.
It’s an excellent Twitter account to follow for creatives and especially good for keeping you sharp during your less creative projects.
