Voices Unlocked
Deliverables
Challenge
The subject matter is sensitive and often surrounded by stigma. The challenge was to build an identity that felt safe and welcoming without becoming heavy, clinical or overly serious. It was important to avoid obvious prison symbolism and instead create something that centred people rather than the system. At the same time, the podcast needed to stand out across digital platforms, social media and podcast listings, where first impressions matter.
Goals
My goal was to develop a visual identity that put voices first. I created a logo housed within a speech bubble to symbolise open dialogue, and built a graphic system around bold typography and first person statements. The identity needed to feel expressive and flexible, allowing it to move confidently across social posts, podcast artwork, campaign creative and merchandise while staying consistent and recognisable.
Results
The final brand feels open, human and confident. It balances personality with sensitivity, helping the podcast approach a complex topic in a way that feels accessible rather than intimidating. Voices Unlocked now has a cohesive and adaptable identity system that supports its growth across platforms, while keeping the focus firmly on the voices at the heart of it.
